Buenas tardes, welcome to Ceja Winery
Since 1998, the Ceja family has tended these hillside vineyards in the heart of Sonoma Valley, crafting wines that carry the warmth of three generations in every pour.
Don Javier Ceja first set eyes on this Sonoma hillside in 1996 — rocky, rugged, and unlike anything in his native Mexico. What others saw as difficult terrain, he saw as promise: well-drained soils, morning fog, and a slope that catches the light just so.
Three generations later, that vision endures. The vineyards stretch across 170 acres at elevations between 600 and 1,400 feet, producing wines of structure and grace — Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot — each a true expression of this place.
Our winemaking philosophy is simple: let the vineyard speak. We prune by hand, harvest by hand, and age every bottle in French oak with nothing between the wine and its terroir but patience.
The Ceja Family
Vintners since 1998Every bottle begins on these hillsides, where our Bordeaux varietals mature slowly under the Sonoma sun.
Our flagship. Deep, structured, and age-worthy — dark fruit, cedar, and a velvety finish that speaks of our hillside terroir.
Silky and approachable from youth, with plump blackberry, mocha, and a supple mid-palate that invites another glass.
Herbaceous and bright — green pepper, violet, and red currant with a lively acidity that sets it apart.
Rich and brooding, with dark chocolate, black cherry, and a long, smoky finish that lingers pleasantly.
Our rarest varietal — intensely concentrated, with notes of black olive, espresso, and violets.
A limited-release white blend — crisp citrus, stone fruit, and a mineral edge from our coastal-influenced site.
Perched above the Sonoma Valley floor, our estate offers a panorama that stretches from the Mayacamas to the coastal range. The tasting room itself is designed to frame that view — floor-to-ceiling glass, warm wood, and a fireplace that calls to guests in the cooler months.
Whether you arrive for a casual glass after lunch or a reserved afternoon with our winemaker, the experience is unhurried and personal. This is family country, and we treat every guest accordingly.
We welcome guests by appointment. Reservations ensure a personal, unhurried experience — whether you're exploring our wines for the first time or joining us for a vertical tasting with our winemaker.
